Course Overview

Course Overview
This course will run weekly for 5 weeks on a Monday and is designed for those who want to promote and sell their creative work, creating a marketing and online presence. On the course you will research various social media platforms and prepare your work ready to photograph and upload.
You will consider the pro’s and cons of different platforms e.g. costs versus free sites, and include popular sites such as: Esty, Facebook, Pinterest and other alternative creative blogs such as WordPress. You will use IT to upload images to your desired media platform.

The course has been developed for all types of learners with varying abilities and experience of ICT. You will build on your knowledge and understanding through the tasks set as part of the course, and through online tutorials accessible from home via the Internet (Zoom / Google Classroom). Email will also support some of your learning.

You will use online digital templates to create an online presence, which can be developed independently.

When the schedule allows you will continue to develop your personal statement to promote yourself and create a summary of what it is you are selling or offering. You will develop your own personal branding utilising your existing knowledge of digital software such as Microsoft Word, progressing onto more advanced, industry appropriate software, such as the Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator and Photoshop, where appropriate / if available from home.

You will participate in group discussions (via Zoom) and develop your ideas through peer review.

(This course is designed to work alongside the Take Professional Photos for your Website and Social Media Platforms course; however you do not have to be enrolled on these courses to do this one.)
