Course Overview
This ‘all levels’ course is suitable for you if you are looking to explore a brief introduction into the fibre craft of Crochet.

This course requires no previous experience and is taught in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.

Throughout this 2 week course, you will try your hand at the traditional techniques of Crochet, to learn the basics and construct at least one piece.
You will be learning, double & treble crochet stitches and have the opportunity to experiment with different yarns and colours.

Equipment Required
Basic equipment and materials will be provided. However please feel free to bring any particular supplies you may have at home – such as chunky yarns, cords etc.
A folder to keep handouts, and a notebook to take personal notes and design ideas, coloured pencils/felt-tips may be useful.

After completing this course, you can progress onto the Hand Knitting Course; Sewing and Garment Pattern Cutting – Beginners, Basic Clothes Making; Get Started in Sewing or a range of other Fashion and Textile courses. What examination is there?

You will complete a self-assessment at the beginning and end of the workshop

The tutor will carry out informal assessments to check your understanding but there is no exam.

How will I know I am making progress?

How will I know I am making progress?
You will have an individual learning plan to monitor your own progress.
You and your tutor will be able to monitor your progress through the self-assessment form and
monitoring your progress against the course learning outcomes.
Your tutor will give ongoing feedback and will keep you informed of your progress.
You will also need to evaluate your own progress and manage your time.

Please note it is important that you attend punctually in order to maximise your chances of benefiting from the course.

You should aim to arrive at class at least 5 minutes before the start so that you are ready to commence on time.

If you are studying in an online group, then you can arrange a one-to-one online discussion with your tutor, after the session, or by email.
