Get the inspiration to take better photographs. This is a hands on practical course run by a professional photographer in a friendly and informal setting. It will enable you to work with your own camera more confidently whilst learning how you can express yourself with your photography.
You will begin to explore composition and how to use your digital camera to control light and exposure and broaden the creative horizons of your photography.

Entry Requirements

Entry Requirements
Any digital camera (Compact, Bridge or DSLR camera with the ability to set your exposures manually) and smartphones. Pen & notepaper, you will create a learning journal, recording your progress, making notes during theory sessions and in practical demonstrations. The ability to walk, exploring the surrounding area of Tower Hamlets.

Equipment Required
You will need to have a camera that can be used in manual mode, i.e. a Compact, Bridge CSC (Compact System Camera), DSLR camera or Smartphone with a manual photography app. Pen & notebook. You will create a learning journal, recording your progress, making notes during theory sessions and in practical demonstrations.

At the end of the course, we recommend that you progress onto the Creative Digital Photography Intermediate course. You will have skills that will also enable you to attend, Portrait, Studio, or other photography courses.

What examination is there?

What examination is there?
There will be an initial assessment followed by on-going assessment of progress and achievement. This course will also include:
• Structured opportunities for self evaluation;
• Peer observations and review of work;
• End of course feedback, evaluation and review of images.

How will I know I am making progress?

How will I know I am making progress?
Your tutor will give you on-going feedback tracking and monitoring your progress, giving feedback throughout the course. You and the tutor will use an individual learning plan to monitor your progress allowing you and the tutor to track your knowledge and skills developed on the course.
You will also gain more from the course if you commit time to it outside the classroom.

Punctuality in attendance on courses is important to us, as students who arrive late interrupt the learning experience for all learners. In general, we will not allow late entry to any course after the first two weeks. Short intensive courses and most workshops will not accept new learners after the first class. In all cases the full fee will be charged.
