In this course, you will practice all four skills of Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. We will explore a variety of grammar and spelling patterns as well as familiarise learners with punctuation principles and application rules.

You will need to have completed an ESOL Entry 3 course in reading and writing or be able to demonstrate language at the required level.

Pen, paper, folders, highlighter and a reusable water bottle. Tablets or laptop for online learning.

You can go on to take exams in Functional Skills English level 2 after this course.

There is exam on this course although your must be enrolled on a Functional Skills English exam course to join this course.

How will I know I am making progress?

How will I know I am making progress?
Your teacher will be observing and assessing your work during lessons. You teacher will help you correct your work and give you feedback on your progress. Your teacher will have a one to one discussion about your progress and give you a chance to discuss any issues or learning difficulties you are facing.

Please remember if you miss 3 classes in a row or your attendance is below 80%, you will lose your place on the course.

When attending class, you must bring to class all equipment to study (pens, paper etc.).

You must do your homework and any other tasks that your tutor asks you to do enable you to achieve your learning goals. If you do not, then your tutor can remove you from the course.
If you cannot finish the course, you must tell your tutor as soon as possible. If you cannot attend an exam that you have been entered for, then you will be liable to pay £50.
