Course Overview
This is an 18-week ESOL Entry 3 Speaking and Listening Exam Course.

You will talk about everyday topics such as your home, your hobbies, local events, trips, special occasions, and news stories. You will also learn how to make plans, give instructions, and explain your ideas clearly.

You will practise listening to real-life conversations, instructions, and short talks. You will learn how to listen for important details and understand the main points.

You will also practise asking and answering questions, sharing your opinions, and using the right language for different situations at work, home, and in your community.

Entry Requirements
This is an Entry 3 ESOL class. Your English is at pre-intermediate level. You can already talk about everyday topics and use the present simple, present continuous, and past simple tenses. You are now ready to:
- Expand your vocabulary
- Talk about the future
- Speak more accurately in different situations

What examination is there?

What examination is there?
You will take the Ascentis Entry 3 Speaking and Listening exam in class with your teacher and classmates.

The exam has three parts:
1. Listening: Listen to two recordings and answer questions about the main points, details, and instructions.
2. Conversation: Take part in a role-play conversation in a small group.
3. Presentation and discussion: Give a short talk on a familiar topic. You will get your topic up to two weeks before the exam so you can prepare.

You must attend all lessons to be ready for the exam.

How will I know I am making progress?

How will I know I am making progress?
At the start of the course, your tutor will agree with you which skills you need to work on. You will have an individual learning plan and regular tutorials to check your progress.

You will keep a folder with your work so you can see how you are improving. Your tutor will give you feedback on your classwork and homework.

If you miss 3 lessons in a row without telling your teacher, or if you miss 4 lessons in total, you will lose your place.
