Course Overview

Course Overview
This is a year-long course divided into four 9-week parts.

Are you confident speaking English but want to improve how accurately and clearly you communicate in writing and speaking? This Grammar in Practice course is ideal for learners working at Level 1 or Level 2, especially those preparing for Functional Skills English or ESOL exam classes at a higher level.

Designed to support both grammatical accuracy and real-world communication, this course will help you improve your use of verb tenses, sentence structure, punctuation, and style. You will practise applying grammar purposefully — not just identifying it — and use feedback to improve your writing over time.

You will also develop key skills for Functional Skills success, including critical thinking, collaborative discussion, proofreading, and structuring extended writing. From formal complaint letters to diary entries, podcasts, and emails, each task helps you move toward a more confident, functional use of English in work, education, and daily life.
