You will work with screen printing on paper and fabric, using a range of stencil methods including Drawing Fluid, Wax Stencil Card, Oil Pastel, and Photo Stencil. You will explore one and two colour printing, learning how images can be built through layering, repetition, and variation.
The focus is on mark making, testing materials, and experimenting with process—trying different approaches and seeing how small changes affect your outcomes. You will be encouraged to revisit and adapt your work, developing ideas over time.
You will also take part in discussion and reflection, helping you understand what works in your prints and how to develop your ideas further. References to artists and creative practice will support your thinking.
This course prepares you to progress to Explore: screen printing on paper and fabric – extending processes (Term B), where you will develop more complex and layered work.
