Course Overview

Course Overview
This welcoming five‑week beginner course introduces you to the essential skills of crochet through slow, mindful making. You will be guided step by step from the basics, learning how to hold a hook and yarn comfortably, learn key beginner stitches and work from the center in rounds to create a ‘granny square’ in a calm supportive environment.
You will develop steady, relaxed working habits and build confidence through repetition and gentle practice. Learn how simple crochet structures are formed and begin a personal stitch reference library to support future learning. Small, purposeful projects such as squares, scarves, decorations, or simple household textiles provide opportunities to practice skills while enjoying the rhythmic, grounding nature of crochet.
Selected pieces may contribute to community or charity projects, encouraging a sense of connection and shared purpose without pressure to produce finished or perfect outcomes.
No prior experience is required. This course forms part of the Essentials Repeat Pathway, allowing learners to return to the course to reinforce skills, deepen confidence, and continue developing mindful making practices at their own pace
No prior experience is required.
