Course Overview

Course Overview
This course leads to a nationally recognised qualification - the Essential Digital Skills Qualification at entry 3, awarded by Gateway Qualifications.
Over 15 weeks, you'll develop and demonstrate your digital skills across five areas that matter in everyday life and work. At the end, you'll sit an online exam. Our learners achieved a 90.5% pass rate last year, because we don't just teach to the exam - we make sure you genuinely understand and can use these skills in your own life

What will you learn and be able to do?

What will you learn and be able to do?
* Use digital devices confidently for everyday purposes so technology feels like a tool that works for you rather than something you struggle with - such as adjusting your settings, managing your storage, connecting to Wi-Fi, and switching between apps.
* Create and edit digital content for real purposes so you can produce written work that looks clear and professional - such as writing a letter to your landlord, making a poster for a community event, or updating your CV.
* Communicate online using the right tool for the situation so you can stay connected and handle important conversations digitally - such as emailing your child's school, messaging a friend, or joining a video call for a parents' evening.
* Carry out online transactions and access services safely so you can manage practical tasks online with confidence - such as booking a GP appointment, paying a bill through your council account, or comparing prices before buying something.
* Protect yourself in the digital world so you and your family stay safe online - such as recognising a phishing email, understanding your digital footprint, and knowing what personal information is safe to share.
