Course Overview

Course Overview
This is the highest digital skills qualification we offer - and it's a serious achievement.
The level 1 qualification covers advanced digital tasks including complex documents, data handling, online collaboration, and digital problem-solving. You'll learn skills directly relevant to the modern workplace, including how AI tools are starting to change the way people work.

What will you learn and be able to do?

What will you learn and be able to do?
* Create complex documents and handle data for professional or formal purposes so you can produce work at a standard that's expected in a workplace - such as writing a multi-page report with headings and images, or building a spreadsheet that sorts, filters, and calculates data automatically.
* Collaborate with others using digital tools so you can work as part of a team in a digital environment - such as sharing documents through Google Drive, editing a shared file without overwriting someone else's work, or managing a group project through shared folders and email.
* Carry out complex online tasks and evaluate information critically so you can navigate the digital world as a confident, critical consumer - such as comparing products across websites, managing online accounts, checking whether a news source is reliable, or understanding how search results can be influenced by advertising.
* Understand how AI tools are being used in everyday life and work so you're aware of how technology is changing and can use these tools when they're helpful - such as voice assistants, AI features in apps that suggest what to write, chatbots that handle customer service, and tools that help organise data.
* Solve digital problems independently so you don't have to rely on others every time something goes wrong - such as working out why a document won't print, recovering a file you accidentally deleted, freeing up storage on your device, or troubleshooting a Wi-Fi connection.
