How will you know you are making progress?

How will you know you are making progress?
From the start of the course, your tutor will talk with you about what you can do well and how you can achieve more. You will create a learning plan together to help you organise your learning and make progress.
As part of this plan, you will work on completing a short personal task about something important to you. This task will help to develop your skills and show you the progress you are making.
Examples of personal tasks at this level include: introduce myself and give my personal details to a classmate to talk about where I come from; fill in a simple form with my name, address and phone number to register for a service; have a short conversation with my child’s teacher to ask simple questions; read and understand signs in my local area to find places and directions; write a short message or note to a teacher or friend to share information.
You will keep a folder of your classwork and homework. Your teacher will give you comments about your homework and your work in class to help you improve.
At the end of the course, you will discuss your progress and what to do next with your tutor.
You need to attend at least 80% of your classes.
