This is an intermediate course suitable for students with some previous experience. You will develop existing skills and knowledge, learn new techniques and ways to combine different processes. You will be encouraged to work at your own pace on self-directed projects or tutor led projects that will be designed to cover your individual interests and experience. You will be supported to expand your skills and develop your creative ideas and personal practice.
Techniques may include Monoprint, Drypoint, Collagraph, Chine-Collé, LYou will continue to work across relief, intaglio, and screen printing, choosing processes that best suit your ideas. You may develop a series of prints, a small edition, or an artist’s book, building a cohesive body of work.
The course encourages independent exploration, supported by discussion and critique. You will refine your techniques, edit your work, and begin to think about how to present it.
You will also develop an understanding of how printmaking connects to contemporary creative industries and professional practice.
