Course Overview

Course Overview
“What would you show someone visiting Tower Hamlets for the first time?”

This six week course explores the London Borough of Tower Hamlets as a place to visit, experience and promote. Through guided walks and classroom discussion, learners are encouraged to see familiar streets and neighbourhoods through a tourism lens, considering how history, culture, community and place shape the visitor experience.
The course is designed for adult learners who are curious about their borough, interested in tourism or heritage, or who simply enjoy learning through walking, conversation and observation. Learners will explore how Tower Hamlets’ diverse communities, landscapes and developments can be presented positively to visitors, while also deepening their own understanding of the area.

The course concludes with a relaxed, fully supported sharing activity. Learners are invited to share an informal tourism idea for Tower Hamlets, based on the places they explored and what they personally feel makes the borough special and worth visiting
