Course Overview

Course Overview
Celebrate music from around the world in a welcoming and inclusive singing group.
This lively and enjoyable course invites adult learners of all abilities to explore songs from a wide range of global traditions, rhythms, and cultures.
You will learn and perform uplifting group songs such as funky numbers from the West Indies and beautiful African harmony songs, while also exploring different tempos, rhythms, and musical styles from around the world. Sessions include vocal warm ups, learning songs by ear, and developing confidence through group singing.
There are opportunities for solo singing and improvisation for those who wish to try it, but no one is ever required to sing on their own. Beginners are supported step by step in a relaxed environment, while more experienced singers can challenge themselves with harmonies, solo lines, or creative expression.
The course encourages listening, respect, and shared participation, ensuring that everyone’s voice is valued. Together, the group will work towards an End of Year performance, celebrating progress, achievement, and the joy of singing together.
No prior singing experience is needed—just a willingness to join in and explore music from different cultures.
