Strength, placement and understanding from the floor up.
No barre. Just you, the floor and a stronger ballet technique.
This course introduces students to the fundamental principles of Ballet Floor Barre, focusing on alignment, placement, and efficient use of the body without unnecessary tension. Working supine and seated on the floor allows students to isolate muscle groups safely while developing awareness of turnout, core engagement, and coordination.
Students will learn basic ballet technical vocabulary, explore simple movement patterns to music, and begin to understand how anatomy supports healthy dance practice. Historical references to ballet and related movement traditions will be introduced to contextualise the technique.
