How will you know you are making progress?

How will you know you are making progress?
From the start of the course, your tutor will talk with you about what you can do and what you want to learn.
You will make a simple learning plan together to help you improve your English step by step.
As part of your learning, you will complete a short personal task about something important in your life. This task will help you practise your English and show your progress.
Examples of personal tasks include:
• write a short message or email (e.g. to your child’s school or a teacher)
• ask for information and write down the answer (e.g. about a class, job, or service)
• fill in a simple form with your details
• write a short message about your plans (e.g. meeting a friend or going somewhere)
• practise speaking in a real situation (e.g. asking for help in a shop or library)
Some tasks may include real-life activities outside the classroom (for example, asking for information in a shop or library).
You will keep your work in a folder. Your teacher will give you feedback to help you improve your English.
At the end of the course, you will talk about your progress and your next steps with your tutor.
You need to attend at least 80% of your classes.
