This short 3-week course gets you ready for the digital skills exam at entry 3. You'll learn what the exam covers, practise the types of tasks you'll need to complete, and build your confidence so you feel prepared when the qualification course begins.
Think of this as a warm-up - it takes the pressure off so you can start the exam course feeling ready, not nervous

* Practise tasks across all five content areas - using devices, creating content, communicating, transacting, and being safe online - so you can identify which areas you feel confident in and which need more work
* Complete a timed practice task under exam-like conditions so you get used to working at the pace the exam requires.
* Talk with your tutor about your strengths and areas to develop so you can start the qualification course with a clear personal plan for where to focus

Entry requirements

Entry requirements
This course is for learners who have achieved the Essential Digital Skills Qualification at entry 3, or who have been assessed as ready for level 1 study.

Pens and pencils
Lined A4 paper
A smartphone (if you have one)
A reusable water bottle
You will also need a personal Gmail account to access Google Classroom. If you don't have one, your tutor will help you set one up.

How will you know you are making progress?

How will you know you are making progress?
Your tutor will assess your readiness across the five content areas during the 3 weeks. By the end, you'll have a clear picture of your strengths and any areas to work on before the exam course begins.
You need to attend all three classes, or have a good reason why you were unable to in order to progress onto the qualification course.
