This course helps you develop your confidence and improve your creative skills in drawing and painting through regular, focused creative practice. As you practise key techniques, you’ll begin to experience how making art can help you slow down, concentrate and feel more confident in your abilities.
You’ll explore different materials, subjects and approaches, working from observation and imagination. Topics may include plants, architecture, found objects, simple perspective and composition. As your skills develop, you’ll start to trust your decisions and feel more comfortable experimenting without fear of getting things wrong.
You’ll also discover how artists use line, colour and movement, and how art connects to different cultures and ways of seeing the world.
There is still plenty of guidance, but you’ll be encouraged to try things out for yourself, helping you build independence, resilience and a sense of achievement.
