Course Overview

Course Overview
Are you starting to show, sell or promote your own — or others’ — creative work, but feel your photos aren’t doing it justice?
This is an Emerging Practice course for makers, artists, designers and people developing their creative practice who want to produce reliable, purposeful images for real use — whether for portfolios, applications, exhibition promotion, websites, listings, social media, or personal projects done to a high standard. You’ll learn how to create consistent image sets that reflect the character and intention of the work being photographed. This can support a wide range of next steps, from self employment and small creative businesses to simply presenting work professionally and confidently for your own purposes. Where appropriate, learners may photograph work in Idea Store Learning exhibitions/showcases as part of their personal tasks.

* Plan and create a set of images for a specific purpose (e.g. portfolio, website, sales listing), selecting shots that communicate the scale, detail, and qualities of the work.
* Edit and refine photographs of artwork using basic post-production techniques to improve clarity, colour accuracy, and presentation.
* Prepare and present a consistent set of final images, formatted and ready for real-world use such as exhibition promotion, applications, or online sharing.
