Course Overview

Course Overview
Have you ever taken one great photo… and then couldn’t work out how you did it?
This is an Exploring course for adults who want their photography to feel less random and more intentional. You’ll start making photographs with purpose — deciding what you want the viewer to notice, what you want the photo to communicate, and how to strengthen it through selection and editing. It’s a key step towards developing your own approach, not just taking “nice pictures”.

What will you learn and be able to do?

What will you learn and be able to do?
* Define what you want a photograph or a set of photos to communicate before you take the picture(s).
* Use composition, light, timing and viewpoint to guide the viewer’s attention in a chosen image.
* Edit and reduce a larger set of images (e.g. 30 → 8) so the final selection feels intentional and visually coherent.
* Create a connected mini-series (6–8 images) based on a single idea, routine or experience.
* Explain how your selection and editing choices strengthen meaning across a set.
